We offer smelter slag from copper smelting operations in the USA. Since it is composed of Iron and Iron Silica as well as other miscellaneous metals including Zinc, Tin, and Gold, it has the consistency of aggregate and is crushed to 1" minus, a size easily transported and handled at the furnace site, making it less expensive overall, thus increasing its value. It is also very dense, being 211 pounds per cubic foot, resulting in a large tonnage of material in less volume. With less volume per ton, larger loads of bulk material can be loaded onto trains and ships for transport, once again creating a savings in cost per ton for transport. Another very significant trait of this material is its level of Iron Recoverability, being expressed in the Assay Report as 97%. Since it is very dense and has this level of recoverability, the resulting amount of actual melted steel from each ton is comparatively higher than that of raw ore, and a much greater recovery per cubic foot than that of Scrap Iron. Each of these traits once again results in a savings in production expenses.
